Import Guide

Platform-specific import instructions for Tradovate, Rithmic, ProjectX, and WealthCharts.

This guide covers Gainway import workflows for Tradovate, ProjectX, Rithmic, and WealthCharts.

Tradovate+

Gainway supports direct CSV imports from Tradovate. Here's how to get your data — it's a two-step process in the Tradovate web app:

Step 1: Open the Performance Report

Log in to Tradovate, then navigate to Reports → Performance Report:

Step 2: Export CSV

Select your date range and click Export CSV (repeat for each account):

Then import into Gainway:

  1. Open the Gainway app and drag-and-drop the CSV file, or use the upload flow
  2. Confirm the import — Gainway auto-detects the account from overlapping data; otherwise, select the account manually
  3. Review trades in your journal and add notes/tags as needed

Tip: Tradovate exports two CSV types — Performance Report and Orders. Both are supported, but do not mix them for the same account — mixing will create duplicate trades.

Tip: Export overlapping date ranges across accounts so Gainway can auto-match and group trades correctly.

ProjectX+

ProjectX (TopStep) exports are straightforward CSV files:

Step 1: Open TopStepX

Launch the TopStepX desktop application and ensure the Trades / Orders component is visible in your layout:

Step 2: Export Trades

Click Export from the Trades / Orders table, then select a date range to export:

Then import into Gainway:

  1. Open the Gainway app and drag-and-drop the CSV file, or use the upload flow
  2. Confirm the import — Gainway auto-detects the account from overlapping data; otherwise, select the account manually
  3. Review trades in your journal and add notes/tags as needed

Tip: ProjectX exports two CSV types — Trades and Orders. Both are supported, but do not mix them for the same account — mixing will create duplicate trades.

Tip: The trades export includes fees in the file and they're used directly. The orders export doesn't include fees, so Gainway applies its TopstepX fee schedule.

Rithmic+

Rithmic CSV imports work by exporting order history from the Rithmic desktop application (R | Trader Pro), then importing into Gainway:

Step 1: Open Order History

Log in to your Rithmic desktop application (R | Trader Pro), then navigate to the Recent Orders or Order History window.

Step 2: Configure Visible Columns

Ensure all required fields are visible and will be exported. The required columns are typically visible by default. If not, right-click the table header in the Recent Orders or Order History window, then select/check the following columns:

Account, Buy/Sell, Qty To Fill, Symbol, Avg Fill Price, Order Number, Update Time, Status, Commission Fill Rate

All 9 fields are required for a successful import.

Step 3: Export as CSV

With the correct columns visible, export the data:

  • Click Export to CSV
  • Choose a filename and save location
  • Repeat for each account if you trade multiple accounts

Then import into Gainway:

  1. Open the Gainway app and drag-and-drop the CSV file, or use the upload flow
  2. Confirm the import — Gainway auto-detects the account from overlapping data; otherwise, select the account manually
  3. Review trades in your journal and add notes/tags as needed

Tip: If you trade multiple accounts on Rithmic, export them individually for each account.

WealthCharts+

WealthCharts CSV imports work by exporting order history from the Broker Portfolio component, then importing into Gainway:

Step 1: Open Broker Portfolio

Open WealthCharts and navigate to the Broker Portfolio component.

Step 2: Export Orders to CSV

In the Broker Portfolio, navigate to the Orders Tab and click Export to CSV (repeat for each account):

Then import into Gainway:

  1. Open the Gainway app and drag-and-drop the CSV file, or use the upload flow
  2. Confirm the import — Gainway auto-detects the account from overlapping data; otherwise, select the account manually
  3. Review trades in your journal and add notes/tags as needed

Tip: Export overlapping date ranges across accounts so Gainway can auto-match and group trades correctly.

Tips for a clean import

  • Overlapping trade data works best. Duplicates will not be imported, but the account will be auto-selected during import.
  • Review imported trade notes and split entries after upload — add setup names, strategy tags, or comments to improve review quality.
  • Export from each platform per account — don't combine accounts in a single CSV.
  • Use consistent date ranges across platforms when possible for cleaner multi-account grouping.
